In 1931, The Coca-Cola Company commissioned Michigan-born illustrator Haddon Sundblom to develop advertising images using Santa Claus.  What started as an advertising campaign soon became a tradition that has captured the public's fancy for the last 75 years.

For three generations of Americans, and for millions all over the world, it is Sundblom's Santa who is the real Santa Claus.  His image, despite changing tastes and electronic times, radiates the true spirit of Christmas.
